A panel of colour experts has been translating the mood of the moment into Dulux Colour of the Year for the last 20 years. We’re excited to hear the new reveal for Colour of the Year for 2023 is Wild Wonder – a soft gold, with hints of green, which has a positive glowing tone, inspired by nature. With the natural world high on the global agenda, this particular shade has been chosen to offer a connection with nature and brings a sense of natural magic into our homes. Dulux has created four colour palettes incorporating Wild Wonder. Each tells a different story about the way we are inspired by the natural world: Lush, Buzz, Raw and Flow.

We’ve scoured the net to find our favourite interior products to reflect or complement this new Wild Wonder shade.

Accessorise Hallways

Like Wild Wonder, Weaver Green’s Gooseberry shade is a gorgeous gold with a hint of green. Seen here in their Provence design Rug and Cushion (Provence Rugs from £45 and Cushion from £58). All of the company’s products are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles; yet feel soft like wool or linen. Weaver Green’s other products in Gooseberry include blankets and throws, braided baskets, tote bags and a stylish ottoman.

Add Warmth to Walls

Taking inspiration from Japan, this Edo Toile Navy from Graham & Brown is an elegant, yet intricate design. Navy and teal contrast with radiant shades of gold, which would look stunning as a statement wallpaper alongside Wild Wonder painted walls (from £65 per roll).

Create a Calming Bathroom

Wild Wonder brings a warm, natural feel to a bathroom, which, in turn, can boost your wellbeing. If you don’t want to repaint your whole bathroom, you can introduce this shade by way of tiles, towels or bath mats. We think this golden shade works beautifully here to warm up the cool grey and white tiling. Pictured here is Matki’s Classica Shower Enclosure.

Bring a Sense of Flow

Dulux has curated the Flow palette to help create a feeling of balance with the regular rhythms of nature. Inspired by the tide, the waves and natural rhythms of the Earth, this palette includes the soft fluid shades of Nordic Seas, Arctic Pebble and Bright Skies alongside the golden tone of Wild Wonder. We love the natural feel of this Tranquil Flow watercolour mural by Katy Clemmans from Wall Sauce, which incorporates colours from the Flow palette.

Cocoon your Lounge

Dulux’s Raw palette is warm and enriching, taking inspiration from the colours of dried wild grasses and harvested crops. For a cocooning effect, combine Wild Wonder with the taupe shade Brave Ground. My Furniture’s Frankfurt Two-Seat Sofa in Taupe (from £999.99) would suit this scheme perfectly, along with accessories such as their Alveare Brass LED Pendant Light (from £174.99), gold and taupe cushions (from £44.99) and Desert Dust wall art (from £84.99 per picture).

Wild and Wonderful Bedding

Dulux’s Lush Palette of greens, browns, lilac and gold helps us feel connected to nature with the aim of boosting our wellbeing. Woodlands and forests inspire the soothing colours of this palette. MM Linens bedding collection is full of floral and botanical prints. We love these two new duvet sets, launched this autumn. The Carrie bedding set features meadow flowers in pinks, greens and pale gold. While the Isola duvet set is a deep mustard shade with hand-painted bunches of garden flowers. We think both would work beautifully with a Wild Wonder backdrop. Double Duvets start from £105, including two pillowcases in the set.

Eco-friendly Flooring

If being sustainable is high on your priority list, look no further than Weaver Green. This gorgeous Nomad Taurus Rug (from £195) provides a stunning contrast to a Wild Wonder-look background. It showcases a Moroccan pattern in reds, blues and golds. It is made entirely from recycled plastic bottles and is stain-, moth- and water-resistant.

Tile it Up

If you’re looking for tiles instead of paint to add some vibrant warmth to your bathroom, these striking Fiesta mosaic tiles have been inspired by the Alhambra Palace in Granada. Available from Porcelain Superstore (from £42 per m2). They would look fabulous against a Wild Wonder wall, or alongside some golden accessories.

Wild and Wonderful Soft Furnishings

These sumptuous Sabel cushions from MM Linen add a luxe feel to living rooms and bedrooms. Each velvet cushion is elegantly finished with a tufted fringe and features a stone wash cotton reverse. Pictured here in Biscuit Sabel cushions (from £50 each).
